ACCESS TO THE MUNICIPALITY

Paniqui is easily reached by land transportation, either by bus or private vehicles. The newly improved MacArthur Highway traverses it from North to South or vice-versa. In fact, the shortest route from Manila to Baguio and to the Ilocos Region passes this Municipality.

The Paniqui Welcome Ark, a visible and remarkable landmark, greets visitors as they enter the municipality.

Mac Arthur Highway cuts across the Poblacion. However, due to traffic congestion during peak hours, especially during market days, a diversion road was constructed outside the town.

Almost all the roads within the Poblacion area are already concreted. Similarly those main arteries linking the interior Barangays with the town proper are either asphalted or concreted thus providing easy access to the Poblacion for smooth transport of products services and mobility of people.

The construction of the Paniqui-Camiling road makes travel between Paniqui and the Western neighboring towns of Tarlac and Pangasinan easier via well-concreted roads and bridges. The western town of Nueva Ecija have likewise been linked with Paniqui through well-paved roads making trading and commerce faster and easier.

Paniqui is experiencing a rapid business growth particularly around the Poblacion where most of the trading takes place. The Public

Paniqui is the center of education in this Northern part of Tarlac province as evidence by its facilities, as
 two districts run by the Government, and eight private schools offering elementary education

HEALTH FACILITIES

practitioners are undertaking Health Care in Paniqui. There are two Rural Health Units – RHU I and RHU II, with stations in the Poblacion and in Barangay Balaoang. There are three private hospitals and at least 17 private clinics strategically located in the Poblacion attending to the health
needs of the local populace, Other health facilities are the Family Planning centers,EENT clinic, & Physical Therapy

RECREATION and SPORTS

Paniqui is the sports center in this northern part of Tarlac Province. It boasts of well-equipped sports facilities in track and field, tennis, swimming, football, basketball, volleyball, baseball, boxing and facilities for holding concerts, musical and literary contest, rallies and meetings. The Don Eduardo Cojuangco Athletic Bowl is one of the biggest sports centers. Athletic meets usually are held here. The Don Melencio Freedom Park is the biggest recreational park. It is located in the heart of the Poblacion fronting the Municipal Building. Other existing facilities are convention centers, & man-made resorts.

INFRASTRUCTURE

FLOOD CONTROL AND DRAINAGE

The municipality is maintaining a total of 16,451.63 mts.. drainage canal to control flooding in the Poblacion. About 71.16 % had been constructed of CHB open and closed flume. A flood control dike was also constructed on the left and right side of the Tarlac river.

Left dike: 6 kms. from Brillante, Rang-ayan, Balaoang, Aduas, Barang and Mabilang.

Right dike: 4kms. from Colibangbang, Rang-ayan to Nancamarinan.

An efficient road network facilitates trade with other municipalities. Paniqui has a combined total road network of more or less 218.232 km. of National, Provincial, Municipal and Barangay roads.

Primary means of transportation in the Poblacion area are tricycles. Neighboring municipalities are being served by passenger jeepneys and mini buses. Other
types of transportation passing Paniqui are Victory Liner, PRBL, Fivestar, Dagupan Bus, Viron Transit, Santrans, and many others.

SOCIAL INFRASTUCTURES

The Don Juan Cojuangco Memorial Health Center, Multipurpose Barangay Halls, Day Care Centers, Children playgrounds, Municipal Gym, Convention Center, Municipal Jail, Municipal Building, Puericulture Center, PNP Building, Paniqui Fire Station, School Buildings; Covered Court and Others.

SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT

There is an existing Municipal Ordinance 2002-08 adopting Republic Act 9003 “EcologicalSolid Waste Management Act of 2000”. The LGU is supporting every barangay to put up a Material Recovery Facility (MRF) which will facilitate segregation, and in addition, produce organic fertilizer and charcoal coming from
biodegradable (nabubulok) materials, also, shredded plastic as raw materials for furniture and construction materials. Currently we have one (1) established MRF in Poblacion Sur and other three (3) more just starting to develop. Education, Information, and Communication Campaign (IEC) is still on-going informing all citizens of Paniqui.
